Specialist Study Skills

Accredited Specialist Study Skills Tutor SpLD/ASC (PASSHE/ADG FE/HE), working with over 1500 neurodivergent students, over the past 20 years, using a neuroaffirmative approach that works on a strengths-based model to empower learners, enhance their academic performance, and develop personalised strategies for success in higher education. My tailored support helps students leverage their unique cognitive profiles, build confidence, and cultivate effective study techniques that align with their individual learning styles and neurodivergent traits.  My background in education, combined with my knowledge of neuroscience, psychoeducation, and training as an Neurodiverse/Executive Function/ADHD Coach, uniquely positions me to understand and address the multifaceted challenges faced by neurodivergent people.

Neurodivergent PhD students and Early-Career Researchers- There is a growing awareness of neurodiversity in education and the workplace — but a significant gap remains when it comes to tailored support for neurodivergent PhD students and early-career researchers.

This group often falls between the cracks of standard support systems: their struggles with executive function, emotional regulation, and academic identity are frequently misunderstood or dismissed as personal failings, when in fact they are brain-based challenges that require a specialist response.

At NeuroPathways, I offer coaching and consultancy grounded in two decades of experience working with doctoral-level researchers — with a track record of over 80% retention success - for PHD students receiving coaching or academic support.

A deep understanding of doctoral culture – including supervision dynamics, isolation, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome

  • Evidence-based coaching grounded in neuroscience, psychology, and learning theory

  • A trauma-informed, strengths-based - that meets students where they are, supporting identity, regulation, and autonomy

Through my work at NeuroPathways, I offer tailored coaching and consultancy that fills this critical gap — supporting both individuals and institutions to build more inclusive, brain-friendly environments.

This is a niche area. It's under-served. And I am uniquely placed to help close that gap.
